In Brief
Hackney is one of the most densely populated and diverse boroughs in London. The council take their duties to serve the Hackney constituents very seriously and have invested in updating their Town Hall to make sure that they are maximising the benefits of cutting edge technology to meet the needs of the local populace as efficiently and economically as possible.
When Smartcomm were awarded the project, much effort was taken to design a system that worked with the beautiful, elegant, listed Town Hall that was built in the 1930s. The solutions installed and integrated needed to balance the traditional with cutting-edge technology. The technology needed to be subtle yet robust and easy to use. The council chamber itself has a bespoke system for voting and important meetings. All the systems have been successfully integrated with the intuitive Crestron Control solution, making the complicated technology easy to use for anyone.
